About the course

Join me for this beginner's basketmaking course where you'll be introduced to the tools and techniques of the heritage craft of willow weaving. 

I'll show you how to make your own small round basket, where you'll learn how to make a round base, stake up the basket, weave the sides, turn down the border and add a handle. The basket is a perfect size for foraging berries, collecting eggs or storing household bits and bobs. 

About the venue

The workshop will take place at Coalport Village Hall, which is a lovely space on the banks of the River Severn at the bottom of the Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site.

There's lots to explore in the area, including the Coalport China Museum, Maws Craft Centre and the Jackfield Tile Museum. You can also explore further afield, and go for a walk along the River Severn and take…
